New Celtics Owner Breaks Records, Has Boston-area Ties
It’s not often we get to play the “Breaking News” sounder on Toucher & Hardy. We did yesterday, with news of a new Celtics owner.
Right before 10 a.m., the story broke. Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe reported that the Grousbecks will sell the Boston Celtics to William F. Chisholm for $6.1 billion. That a new record for a North American sports franchise, beating the Washington Commanders by half a million.
So who is William F. Chisholm? He’s the managing partner and chief investment officer at the Symphony Technology Group, based in Menlo Park, CA. He grew up in Georgetown, MA, attended Dartmouth College, and is a lifelong Celtics fan.
