“This should have been a teaching moment. What they should have done is said, ‘Let’s watch it together instead of just talking while the action unfolds.’ They could have reviewed a couple of replays because we’re all seeing it, right? Good broadcasters would have shown the replays, analyzed them live, and then started the discussion. It wouldn’t take much time, maybe 30 seconds. If the analyst had said, ‘Could we replay that?’ or ‘I’ve only seen one angle,’ that would have been better. Or simply admitting, ‘I need to correct myself.’ It’s frustrating when the commentary doesn’t match what viewers are seeing.”
