Fred Toucher responds to Jim Murray being ‘100% not interested’ in morning show job opening
During this morning’s untitled morning show, Fred Toucher responded to the news that Jim Murray being ‘100% not interested’ in the available morning show job opening.
Jim Murray wants everyone to know he’s not making the switch to the “miserable” morning hours and says he’s “perfectly happy and comfortable” where he is—in the afternoons as the third chair on “Felger and Mazz.”
During the Off-Air show on Facebook on Wednesday, Murray was asked if he was in the running for the open role on the morning show.

“I’ve had a conversation with my agent about it. I told him I’m 100% not interested,” Murray stated.
When Felger asked why he wouldn’t be interested, Jim said he’s comfortable where he is, and double the money wouldn’t sway his decision.
“So this is what makes my agent very upset because there’s been another opportunity before,” Murray said. “He’s like, ‘This is what the money is.’ I’m like, ‘Cool. Great. I’m not interested.’”
During the morning show, Fred talked about Jim’s comments from the Herald.
“I don’t know if you guys saw this, but this was in the Boston Herald. Jim Murray from the Felger and Mazz Show. Jim Murray has stated for the record, when asked if he was interested in taking the Rich chair, and he said, ‘No, he doesn’t want to get up in the morning.’ I thought he would be interested. He says that he was thinking about the morning, but he’s done mornings before, and you would assume the opportunity would be so much for him that the last thing you’d want to do is take your name out of the running for a freak-of-a-lifetime opportunity. I hope it wasn’t a matter of pride. I hope he doesn’t think that he had no chance of getting it. So if you’re playing along at home, Jim Murray was quite rude. He didn’t even reach out to me first. I’m kidding. I don’t care. But if you’re playing at home, Jim Murray does not want the Rich chair. So who would have thought this early in the game, one week has taken himself out of the running. Roche might just win in the war of attrition if people get out of it.”
