Albert Breer: Here’s why ESPN is doing Kraft “a favor” flexing Patriots-Chiefs out of Monday Night Football

During this morning’s show, Albert Breer from theMMQB.com was asked about the New England Patriots being flexed out of a Monday night football and believe it’s embarrassing to be flexed out, especially considering the caliber of opponents like Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
WATCH HERE:
Fred Toucher: A lot of people are making a big deal that the Patriots got flexed out on Monday night. I guess it’s the first year they’re flexing Monday Night Football games. So it’s kind of a technicality that they’re the first ones to get flexed because it’s the. I mean, is it something that the Krafts are going to bother them?
Albert Breer: I think the most embarrassing thing about it isn’t that it’s the first Monday night flex. It’s that somehow you are bad enough to get Patrick Mahomes flexed out of a Monday night game. How bad does it have to be for an ESPN executive to say, “Yeah, we got to take Mahomes and the Chiefs out of that slot?”
Ryan Johnston: Well, they know nobody’s going to be watching that game past the first quarter because it’s going to get out of control quickly. I mean, that’s what I’d be thinking. Are the ratings fine for the first hour or so of that broadcast? And then we’re going to be crickets.
Albert Breer: And you know what? It would turn into an. Like, I feel like they might be doing the Patriots a favor because if that happened, it was like 28 to 0 in the second quarter or something. But the rest of the broadcast would all become like an autopsy, right?
