Red Sox drop nearly $500K at outrageous World Series party
The Red Sox spent on one party what a lot of professional athletes make in an entire season.
As reported by the moles at TMZ Sports, the Sox celebrated their World Series championship on Sunday night in epic – and expensive – fashion at Nightingale Plaza in Los Angeles. The total bill ran about $300,000, but they were also quite generous as they reportedly left a $195,000 tip.
So 169 bottles of champagne and $495,000 later, that’s quite a pricey party. But who knows when they’ll get to celebrate a world championship again, so for these guys it was most certainly worth the money.
The Red Sox obviously made it back to Boston in time for Wednesday’s championship parade, and the celebration continued on Thursday night when they brought the Commissioner’s Trophy to the Celtics-Bucks game at TD Garden. This could end up being a week-long thing.
