Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman’s bummer of a 2020 season continues

Julian Edelman just can’t catch a break.
Already on the injured reserve as he works his way back from an in-season knee procedure, Edelman was added to the team’s COVID-19 reserve list Monday, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
It’s the first time a Patriots player has been added to the COVID-19 reserve list since the day before their head-to-head with the Denver Broncos back in Week 5, all the way back in mid-October. Word of Edelman’s addition also comes one day after the Patriots were reportedly fined for their COVID-19 spread that infected quarterback Cam Newton and cornerback Stephon Gilmore.
It’s also important to note that this doesn’t necessarily mean that Edelman has tested positive for the coronavirus, as he could’ve had close contact or exposure to someone who contracted the virus.
No matter his reason for landing on the list, Edelman is just another name to a suddenly-exploding COVID outbreak throughout the NFL, with the Broncos forced to play yesterday’s game without a quarterback and with this week’s Steelers-Ravens contest moved to another day yet again.
The 34-year-old Edelman had 21 catches for 315 total yards in six games this season prior to landing on the injured reserve.
