Is Mike Tomlin throwing shade at Bill Belichick? Steelers Coach raises questions with Patriots praise
Is Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin throwing shade at Bill Belichick and the 2-10 New England Patriots?
Tomlin spoke highly of the two-win New England Patriots, even making Bill Belichick blush. Tomlin went into detail about New England’s defense and had positive words for Matthew Slater and other players. However, what truly elevated Tomlin’s press conference was his “praise” of the Patriots’ quarterback room. With the Patriots having a 2-10 record, it’s hard to believe Tomlin was being sincere.
“Looking at their offense, particularly on a short week, I’m really concerned about the quarterback position and the things that they’re doing at the quarterback position from our preparedness standpoint,”
Tomlin continued his tongue bath, acknowledging the similarities between Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe but mentioning Malik Cunningham and how he could bring a potentially different dynamic.
“They got two guys that are somewhat similar in Mac and Zap. But Malik Cunningham potentially is very different,” Tomlin said, referring to Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe. “They had all three up (active) just yesterday so that has our attention with how we prepare.”
He notes the Patriots had all three quarterbacks active in their game against the Los Angeles Chargers, prompting careful consideration in their preparation for tonight’s game.
During this morning’s show, Fred, the gap-toothed loser known as Jon Wallach and Ryan Johnston reacted to Tomlin’s comments on the team, which they believe are sarcastic shots towards Bill Belichick.
