Marc Bertrand: As a Patriots fan, I want them to lose
On Thursday’s edition of Zolak & Bertrand, Marc Bertrand made it clear he wants the Patriots to lose as much as possible down the stretch.
I’m not asking for players to give less effort…
Scott Zolak: I’ve been on bad teams. Bad teams lose. You end up losing. You don’t try to lose. I don’t like the thought of trying to lose. Attempting to lose.
Marc Bertrand: But you as a fan, do you want them losing?
Scott Zolak: No, I don’t. Losers lose. I don’t want to be a loser.
Marc Bertrand: I want them to lose. I’m not asking players to give less effort or to not try to go out and win.
Hardy: How are you going to feel honestly, if they walk off the field with a win against the Chargers on Sunday? You gonna feel better about your team?
Marc Bertrand: No. I’m going to think they’re the same crappy team they’ve been all year long.
Scott Zolak: You’re so hardened in the way that you’re thinking, the way you view this season. Could you imagine if they make the switch here and say they… I don’t think it’s going to happen but say they get hot and start stringing some games together. How much would that complicate things for a lot of people?
Marc Bertrand: Oh, it would suck.
Scott Zolak: Both quarterbacks, the head coach, the ownership of things. You’re making changes. Some sort of run really good teams. Do we not move away from him? What do we do? And other organizations are watching because, oh, look how Bill Belichick pulled that quarterback, put him in. Look how they got something out of that team at the end when they were dead in the water. We want Bill.
Marc Bertrand: Great. Congratulations.
Scott Zolak: That’s stuff that’s in play, man.
Marc Bertrand: It is. But it’s not what I want to see have happen. I don’t want that. Will your opinion of this team change if they win some games down the stretch.
Scott Zolak: Yeah. Might change on which players I want to keep, which coaches I want to retain. Absolutely.
Marc Bertrand: Yeah, I don’t see it.
Scott Zolak: You beat Buffalo, you beat Kansas City, find a way to pop somebody else in there. You win three of those like oh, they’re actually not that bad. I don’t know. It’s what you’d have to think. Sorry.
