Scott Zolak: I’d take Drake Maye over Caleb Williams 10/10 times
On Thursday’s edition of Zolak & Bertrand, Scott Zolak made it clear he’d take Drake Maye over Caleb Williams 10/10 times.
I like Maye’s speed and size…
Scott Zolak:
Which one do you want for the next 5 years?
Caleb Williams is very good. I’m not stupid. I I know a good football player when I see one. There’s something off with him. I can’t put my finger on it. I don’t care that he paints his fingernails. I don’t care that he’s a diva because I think you have to have swagger to play the position. But I listen to Drake Maye talk, and the more I hear him talk, I think he’s a fast processor…
Imitating Maye… Like we went to this one camp together and I remember the throw he had against Jacksonville. He hit that seam route and he threw that one in there. And you know, we had a good time together, you know, through the draft process.
He’s giving you all factual information, but it’s fast and quick. You always hear Drake talking… like slow down a little bit, slow down. I don’t think he operates that way. I think he’s a fast processor down to his reads. You apply it to the game, clocks going boom, I gotta move. I gotta move on my feet, I gotta slide in the pocket, and he puts bad plays behind him quickly. I think you could eventually have a problem with Caleb Williams because of maybe the diva part of it. McKone, you mentioned it yesterday with DJ Moore. There’s something off on that team, whether it’s the coach, but Williams ain’t going anywhere. You got that guy for the next four years at least. So, you got to make it work and I just think there’s such a bigger upside with Drake. I would take Drake cause of the size and the speed. Maye talks about William extending the play. Maye could have the play of the year after extending it againt the Titans to take it to overtime… I’d take Drake Maye 10 out of 10 times. I’m going to see this kid play on Sunday. Ask me again Monday.
