Scott Zolak: The NFL is missing out on Bill Belichick
On Thursday’s edition of Zolak & Bertrand, Scott Zolak made it clear that the NFL is missing out on Bill Belichick.
Mike McCarthy over this guy?
Scott Zolak:
For a guy that loves the coach, I’m excited for him from that perspective. I think the National Football League is missing out on this guy. I think it’s obvious that Bill’s a smart guy, and as we talked about the researching of it and what he was going to need to do. The 400-page manifesto of his requirements and needs. He’s not walking into this blind. I think he understands he doesn’t have a shot in the league ight now and the interest is lacking, so he’s going to go where the interest is and he’s going to go coach and be with people that he likes to put around him and coach with them and try and put a fantastic product out there at a different level. No doubt about it, this is not the NFL. This isn’t a Power 5 school. This is a top five school. I talked to two friends of mine that kind of know Bill like I know Bill, and he said I believe it’s happening, obviously he’s having a press conference, but in the back of their minds, they’re like we’ll believe it when we see him actually standing on the sideline in a Carolina blue hoodie. Until then, we’re going to wait and see what’s going on here because I heard Joe Murray on it, and he says something doesn’t smell right here. You know what? Something doesn’t smell right. This is not how it’s supposed to end. Like what the hell is wrong with you, NFL? Like should he have 10 teams beating down his door? Absolutely not. I can’t believe it didn’t have one suitor. I can’t believe Jerry Jones would rather roll with that guy than this guy.
