It Reflects Well On the culture that Jerod Mayo Is Trying To Build
Bertrand: Mike, this team has responded since Jerod Mayo called them soft.
Mike Reiss: Yeah.
Bertrand: Haven’t they?
Mike Reiss: Oh Man. So me and Zo were in that conference room in London when Mayo comes out and says that in his opening statement, and I’m thinking to myself, okay, this thing could go in one of two directions.
Bertrand: Yeah.
Mike Reiss: I really had no idea Beetle, which direction it was going to go. 12 quarters since then, and two wins. I think they look like they’re getting a little bit better.
Bertrand: Plus an overtime loss. That does count for something.
Mike Reiss: Now, I will say the teams they’ve played are the Jets, Titans, and Bears. Lower level teams. But you’re also you’re a lower level team, and you have to show that you can beat those type of teams.
Bertrand: You were an underdog in every game.
Mike Reiss: But I do think that it reflects well on the culture that Jerod Mayo is trying to build here. It hasn’t been easy, but the response has been impressive to me.
Bertrand: You see that locker room after the game and you see kind of the emotion in that locker room. That is not a team that the head coach has lost. That is not a team that has thrown in the towel. That’s not a team that has quit. All of that has shown up on the field against bad teams.
Mike Reiss: I get it.
Bertrand: I look at the next two games, Mike, and I feel far better about those two games than I would have felt three weeks ago. I mean, watching last night, Monday Night Football. I look at the next two games and say that the Pats could be in those games and could potentially win.
