Should the Patriots trade Mac Jones for this young QB?
Zolak & Bertrand question whether the Patriots should trade for a young QB that Rob Gronkowski was advocating for earlier in the week.
Mac Jones for Malik Willis?
Marc Bertrand: Do you want to trade Mac Jones for Malik Willis?
Scott Zolak: No. That’s not fair.
Marc Bertrand: It isn’t?
Scott Zolak: I think Mac is more valuable than Malik Willis.
Marc Bertrand: I don’t think he is right now in a trade because one guy has potential and one guy has a sample size. Look at the Trey Lance deal. He went for a fourth. Right. It’s been a bust of a pick. He got a fourth round pick. What do you think Mac is worth in a trade? Pick wise. Round wise.
Scott Zolak: Probably a 2?
Marc Bertrand: I don’t think he is. I think it’s a three or lower.
Scott Zolak: Wow. So you would trade Mac, lose a guy that’s got experience and acquire a third or fourth round pick that has pretty much gotten cut every year that you’ve drafted there. That’s just giving a guy away for pretty much nothing.
Marc Bertrand: Well, he’s been so good. I mean, what do you think he’s worth? You think there are teams around the league that look at Mac Jones and saying we’re clamoring to do a trade for that player?
Scott Zolak: Nope.
Marc Bertrand: Do you like Malik Willis? I do.
Scott Zolak: I mean, I don’t know much about him. Like I’ve seen him briefly. He was okay in the preseason, moved around alright, got killed a couple of times, you know, starting a year ago. He was not good. That’s part of the problem where you watch that, you think, okay that’s that guy. I saw him a little bit in pre-season. Not bad, but I want a real starter.
