This Or That: Miami or Las Vegas?
On Monday’s edition of Zolak & Bertrand, Hardy and Joe Murray debated the better vacation spot, Miami or Las Vegas?
Hardy was fresh off his vacation to Las Vegas, but he lived down there earlier in his life. Murray is known as a gambling man, but was it enough to sway his decision after breaking down the food scene in Miami?
You just can’t beat Las Vegas…
Hardy: Vegas or Miami and all that it that entails. Vegas or Miami. Use it from a Boston perspective if you want, because I think if you’re just talking about the actual trip down there, Miami is a lot easier. That flight out to Vegas is a long one.
Murray: Hmm. And this one, I saw you. I thought about it. Vegas or Miami? Yeah. I like the way Tyler put it. You’re getting dirty no matter what you’re doing.
Milliken: It’s true. But if I’m going to get dirty, I want to be dirty at the beach. I don’t want to be dirty just walking around the casino.
Murray: There’s something about that casino pool, though, man, that you feel like you’re in Miami. You know, you could dress it up like Miami. You’re spending money on both, right? I mean, Miami is expensive. I don’t care who you are. It cost some dough out there. You want to go out, the gratuities included, then you have to add to that. That situation is interesting out there. I don’t know.
Hardy: Miami or Las Vegas? No, no, no, no, for the for the cost. Which one were you saying that about.
Murray: I think Miami is very, very expensive to be in that town.
Hardy: Let me tell you something. Las Vegas and again, this trip for me was different than others because I was doing different things as me and my son. Number one, 35 bucks a day for a hotel valet. I know a lot of people don’t rent cars when they go out there, but we do because we have places to go. And I have friends out there and I want to drive around and do different stuff. The actual show tickets and again, if I were at a hotel, that I normally gamble at I would probably get some comped or something. Show tickets are going to cost you, like if you get anything, you’re already talking 150 each.
Murray: What’s Britney? If you’ve ever going to go see Britney Spears?
Hardy: I don’t know. But frickin David Copperfield was $140 a ticket.
Murray: All right. So it’s expensive.
Hardy: It’s expensive. The meals are expensive. Everything is expensive everywhere. So I think you’re spending a lot of money regardless. I’d say the money is probably a wash.
Murray: I’d say the money is absolutely a wash.
Hardy: Do you have a chance of making any back in Miami, though?
Murray: There is the Hard Rock up there.
Hardy: Yeah. But you’re not going to the casino.
Murray: You know what… I’ve declared it. It’s Vegas. It’s because you can go to Miami whenever, it’s an easy flight you can probably do it in two days if you had to. I think Vegas is a little more long term and a little more of the show let’s say.
Hardy: I say Vegas. I love Vegas. I would choose Vegas. I would hear all kinds of arguments from Miami, though, if you’re into the ocean and the beach, although you could argue that Vegas is on the beach, it’s just well, it’s 400 miles to get to the water, but it’s one big beach until you get there.
