Dianna Russini: This offseason will be one of the most important in Patriots’ history
Live at Radio Row for Super Bowl LIX, Dianna Russini of The Athletic explained her outlook on the upcoming offseason for the Patriots.
This is the time for them to build this thing…
Marc Bertrand:
What’s this offseason going to look like?
Dianna Russini:
A lot of work, man. God bless this regime because they got a lot of things to do, a lot of money to spend. I really see this offseason being one of the most important offseasons of the New England Patriots, probably in the last 10-15 years. This is the time for them to really tinker and build it in a way to bring it back to the Patriot way that we’ve seen, you know, obviously years past where you guys have had so much success.
Scott Zolak:
Mike Vrabel’s sniffing this thing too. He wanted it, didn’t he?
Dianna Russini:
He’s a beast, man. He had any option and he picked New England. The New York Jets were in love with him. I mean talking to that building after his interview, he set the bar so high for them that I almost think it was bad. They were like, this is what we want to be.
Scott Zolak:
Do you think that’s why New England accelerated things so quickly that next week?
Dianna Russini:
Look, there’s got to be a little bit of that play in there of we cannot let the New York Jets take our guy. I think the leadership that he’s going to bring and he is a force, love him or hate him, he could rub you the wrong way in certain situations but he’s got a vision and he’s decisive.
