Details come out on Harold Landry’s contract with Patriots
One of the leaders in Mike Vrabel’s locker room during his time coaching in Tennessee, Harold Landry, was one of the many defensive additions for the New England Patriots during free agency. The hope for Landry is he brings knowledge of Vrabel’s system that he can share with his teammates, as well as being a positive influence on the defensive unit.
Here are the full contract details, as laid out by Mike Reiss:
Total value: Three years, $43.5 million base value, up to $48 million
Guaranteed: $26 million
Base salaries year-by-year: $3 million (guaranteed), $11 million (guaranteed), $13 million
Cap hit year-by-year: $8.5 million, $16.5 million, $18.5 million
Signing bonus: $12 million
Roster bonus: $1.275 million ($75,000 per game)
Workout bonus: $225,000
Incentives: up to $1.5 million
Landry comes to Foxborough with six years of NFL playing experience — five of which were spent under Vrabel. The 28-year-old outside linebacker has a knack for getting to the quarterback, with 50.5 career sacks (nine in 2024) and 102 career QB hits (15 in 2024).
His familiarity and experience with the Vrabel defense should allow him to be a plug-and-play player in New England. One should expect that Harold Landry will make an immediate impact, both on and off the field.
