10 Questions from Around the NFL with Greg Bedard!
Greg Bedard of BostonSportsJournal.com joined Felger and Mazz to discuss the New England Patriots joint practice with the Philadelphia Eagles. While on, Bedard answered 10 Questions from Around the NFL!
10. Russell Wilson or Justin Fields. If you’re the Steelers, who are you choosing?
Greg Bedard: They’re both terrible.
9. Is CeeDee Lamb a top 3 receiver in the league as Mazz claims?
Greg Bedard: False. But he is close. I have Tyreek Hill, Justin Jefferson, A.J. Brown, then CeeDee Lamb.
8. Thoughts on how Dallas is handling Lamb’s contract and that of Dak Prescott?
Greg Bedard: The Cowboys have completely botched this. Dak Prescott has them over a barrel and I don’t know how they get out of this.
7. Jonathan Taylor wore the guardian cap in the Colts preseason game last week. Should the equipment become standard?
Greg Bedard: Absolutely. I don’t know what we’re waiting for. Just get on with it. I like the little caps over the helmet. It looks better than I thought it would so let’s just do it.
6. Was Patriots training camp, and NFL training camps in general, better when they were held at Bryant or small colleges as opposed to in back of the main stadium?
Greg Bedard: Yeah, just because it’s a lot more intimate. The players mix among the fans. Any place where parking is very accessible to the practice fields and people can freely come and go, unlike Patriot Place and everything where you got to park over here and walk through these things like….No. I like the college experience. It’s much better. It’s a destination type thing. It’s a day. It’s a great time.
5. Has Matthew Judon been a toolbag this summer?
Greg Bedard: You love putting me in this position, don’t you? So I hate to say it because I love the guy and I think he’s a great player, but just for his comments about how he doesn’t run his social media? I mean, that’s just completely fraudulent. He’s on social media all the time. Didn’t he post a picture yesterday or something like that about some kid with a sign that said, “Pay Judon”?
4. When you agreed to take over for Wiggy 10 years ago this week, what were your thoughts and did you know what you were getting into?
Greg Bedard: So I thought there’d be more questions about fighting horses and ducks and that type of thing. I love Wiggy, I knew what he brought to the show. I will say in all seriousness, I was excited to join the show because I listened to the show. I was a fan of the show before I got on it because I’m a Boston sports fan. I grew up here. You’re the type of sports radio where you make me think about my teams. I don’t want to listen to somebody, just “rah rah”, all that stuff, I want people to question my team and “are they doing the right things?” And so I was excited from that aspect.
3. In honor of that for our 15-year anniversary: would you rather fight one horse-sized duck, or a 100 duck-sized horses?
Greg Bedard: So a lot of little things freaks me out. Like I think they’re going to bite the hell out of me, and I can’t fight them all off like that freaks me out. So I’m going with a horse sized duck thinking that I can get one shot or maybe get around the neck and wrestle it to the ground. That’s my thought on that.
2. Who is your least-favorite Pats QB of all time?
Greg Bedard: Scott Zolak….no, I’m just kidding. Tony Eason. That guy, he just crumbled in the face of pressure. He just wilted and would go to the ground. I couldn’t stand him.
1. What former Patriots QB actually impressed you in his preseason debut last weekend?
Greg Bedard: Mac Jones baby. He looked good for the Jaguars. He looked confident. He made a couple plays under pressure…he looked a lot like rookie Mac. He looked confident, calm, cool, collected. He looked good.
