Men’s major championship venues in golf in 2025
The 2024 men’s major championship schedule is in the books. For the first time since 1982, all four majors were won by American born golfers. With 2024 major golf in the rear view mirror, here is a look at the courses where the 2025 major championships will be held!
THE MASTERS – AUGUSTA NATIONAL GOLF CLUB – Augusta, GA
As it does every year, Augusta National Golf Club will host the first major championship of 2025….The Masters. The 2025 Masters is scheduled to be the 89th playing of the tournament.
Augusta National Golf Club plays as a par-72. The defending champion at the 2025 Masters will be Scottie Scheffler.
PGA CHAMPIONSHIP – QUAIL HOLLOW CLUB – Charlotte, N.C.
For the first time since 2017 Quail Hollow will host the PGA Championship. Quail Hollow typically hosts the Wells Fargo championship on the PGA Tour, but has also hosted the 2017 PGA Championship and the 2022 Presidents Cup.
The defending champion of the PGA Championship will be Xander Schauffele. The winner of the PGA Championship when it was last hosted at Quail Hollow was Justin Thomas.
U.S. OPEN – OAKMONT GOLF CLUB – Oakmont, PA
The U.S. Open returns to Oakmont for the first time since 2016. The 2025 U.S. Open will be the 125th playing of the tournament and the 10th held at Oakmont golf club.
Bryson DeChambeau will defend his 2nd U.S. Open title next June. Dustin Johnson was the winner at Oakmont in the 2016 U.S. Open.
THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP – ROYAL PORTRUSH GOLF CLUB – Portrush, County Antrim, Northern Ireland
The 153rd playing of golf’s oldest major will be held at Royal Portrush. This will be the first Open at Royal Portrush since 2019 and just the third Open Championship held at Royal Portrush.
The defending Champion Golfer of the Year will be Xander Schauffele. Irishman Shane Lowry won the 2019 Open Championship when it was at Royal Portrush.
