Felger and Mazz: Is Kristaps Porzingis actually healthy?
Boston Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis met with the media on Tuesday as he gets set for the upcoming NBA Finals between the Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks. Porzingis, who has been out since April 29th when he injured his calf in game 4 against the Miami Heat, made it sound like he was ready to go for game 1. However, Felger doesn’t think Porzinigs is actually fully healthy.
Porzingis says that he is healthy…but is he actually healthy?
Felger: He’s either playing possum or telling it like it is. And like it is…is not good. He’s not as healthy as he thought he would be. He’s going to play, but he’s not necessarily ready and he’s not very confident in his current physical state. It’s that thing where he’s faking it. What is it?
Mazz: It’s the bad thing. Murray?
Jim Murray: Yeah, I think it’s the bad thing. And watching it too, there wasn’t like a twinkle in his eye. I’m like, well, I’m just trying to be cool here playing possum. No, I think he was really reflecting internally and saying…”Uhhhh……Yeah.”
Felger: So he did have a smile, but I think the smile was, “I’m not.” I mean, I don’t know.
Jim Murray: What’s your gut tell you? Usually in these type of events, right?
Felger: He’s not faking it. He’s not ready. He’s not right.
Jim Murray: That’s what my gut told me. They’re going to try to switch on Doncic and he ain’t right, Good luck!
Felger: He’s not right. Or he’s putting me on. But I don’t think so.
