Felger on the NFL and possible “optical tracking system”
The NFL may be replacing the line to gain crew with what they are calling an “optical tracking system”. On Thursday’s Felger and Mazz, Felger gave this thoughts on it and shockingly he doesn’t think it will work.
It involves technology so Felger doesn’t think it will work…
Felger: But you know what’s going happen with this furcoctha thing.
Jim Murray: I’ll learn to hate the robots too, but I think it’s time.
Felger: It’s like, “it’s not working. We’re not getting a signal. The wi-fi’s down. The internet’s down. It’s not working. We’ve got to reset. Now you’ve got to log back in. We’ve got to wait for it to reset. They’ll call the IT guy. If he’s like Dennis, you know what he’ll say…”Yeah, reboot the system”. Like, OK “I know we got it Dennis. I reboot first, then I call you. I know how to reboot. I got it, reboot it, got it”. We’re going to be sitting around with our thumbs up our backsides waiting for them to reboot the system and then log in, authenticate, get it online. It doesn’t work. We got the chip in this ball, but not in that ball. The camera’s down. You know what it’s going to be, but it’s what all technology is. It’s what all technology is…a fail. It doesn’t make your life easier. It doesn’t get it right, and it doesn’t make you any happier at the end of the day. I’m right about this and you know I am.
