Felger: If the Bruins can’t trade Ullmark then I’d trade Swayman
If the Boston Bruins can’t trade Linus Ullmark this offseason, would you trade away Jeremy Swayman? On Wednesday’s Felger and Mazz, Felger says he would.
Would you trade Swayman if you can’t move Ullmark?
Felger: You want hear something that might surprise you? If they can’t trade Linus Ullmark I would consider trading Jeremy Swayman. I don’t think I want to give Swayman, we hit on this the other day, if the number is really 8×8, I think I’m out. No, I don’t THINK I’m out….I’m out. I wouldn’t sign him to that. The one thing I’m consistent about is that I don’t want pay too much for goalies. Especially with the track record you have here between freaking goalie Bob or whatever. Whatever you do to get all these goalies, one after the next, contending and winning Vezina’s. It’s just a conveyor belt going back to effin Andrew Raycroft. I say that, I love Andrew, but you know what I mean? Like, since the Bob Essensa has been here, it’s been from Raycroft to Thomas to Rask to Ullmark to Swayman. Like they got this kid Bussi in Providence and he’s going to cost them nothing. Give him the goalie, Bob and trade Swayman and get me some real players. I would do that. I’m first trading Ullmark, make no mistake. But if they just can’t get it done because Ullmark is so obsessed with the play dates that he gets his two year olds and the soccer practice that he gets to go to and how great it is here for his family, I’m not paying both of them. So fine I’ll go with Ullmark, bench his ass dor Bussi at the end of next year andput that money to a real player. A top-4 d-man or a center. I’m not paying Jeremy Swayman that money. .
Felger: But I’d still rather him. I’d rather have Swayman than Ullmark. And if Ullmark is $5 Million and if Swayman is $7 million like I’d rather have Swayman than Ullmark. I don’t know if I want them at 8×8. And what I really know is I don’t want to put all my money into the net. I want a team and I want a good, young, cheap goalie is what I want. And that’s my path.
