David Pastrnak is The Peterson School’s Hardest Working Player of the Week
With defeats in four straight games, the Bruins are doing what they can to work their way out of a slump.
And though that work has yet to see the Black and Gold break through for a victory since their Dec. 28 win over the Blue Jackets, there’s no denying that they’re finally getting the best hockey out of one of their superstars, with David Pastrnak this week’s Peterson School Hardest Working Player of the Week.
In action for four games this past week, Pastrnak finished with four goals and an assist, and had back-to-back games of multiple goals for the Bruins.
In fact, for Pastrnak, it was the first time that he’s scored multiple goals in back-to-back games in almost two full calendar years, having last accomplished that during a three-game stretch where he scored eight goals in three games in total during the B’s California trip in Jan. 2023.
And when it comes to this week’s production, Pastrnak’s shown an ability to have a quick-strike ability to keep the Bruins in games, with three of his goals coming within two minutes of a goal by the opposition.
One of Boston’s assistant captains, Pastrnak’s recent surge here is the kind of take-charge leadership that the at times offensively challenged Bruins need, as the 28-year-old has had a direct hand in five of the last nine goals scored by the team. His 22 shots over that span are also the most on the team throughout this recent winless slide, with a nine-shot lead over second-place Brad Marchand, and his five takeaways are also the most among all Bruins over that four-game sample.
The Hardest Working Player of the Week is sponsored by The Peterson School. The Peterson School is now enrolling for their spring semester in Woburn, Westwood, Worcester, and Haverhill. To learn more, visit petersonschool.com.
