Kyrie Irving had a surprisingly gracious congratulatory message for the Celtics
Despite a series that featured back-and-forth interactions with Boston fans, Kyrie Irving took time following the Nets’ playoff elimination to congratulate his former Celtics teammates.
Irving took to Twitter following the loss to praise the Celtics players for their series performance.

“We can congratulate the Boston Celtics for doing what they came to do,” Irving told reporters following Game 4.
Irving also took time to embrace Jayson Tatum after the final game of the series after sharing a close relationship with the young scorer during his two seasons as a Celtic.

Despite tensions with Boston in the past, Irving made sure to tip his cap to his former teammates and wish them well as the Celtics’ playoff run continues.
