Tom Brady cracks Gisele joke when asked about not being the highest-paid QB on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

Tom Brady may not be the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL. But in his own words, he’s OK with it – because his wife, Gisele Bundchen, does pretty well for herself too.
In a new appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, Brady was asked about not being the highest-paid quarterback. Kimmel says he should be. Brady’s answer falls in line with how the Patriots QB has approached his contract for most of his career, which is that he’s rarely been the highest-paid to save salary cap space for others. He also managed to crack a joke about his wife’s massive success in her modeling career.
“The thing I’ve always felt for me in my life [is that] winning has been a priority and my wife makes a lot of money, so,” Brady said, grinning. “It’s a salary cap. You can only spend so much and the more one guy gets is less for others. I think from a competitive advantage standpoint, I like to get a lot of good players around me.”

Bundchen earned $10 million in 2018, despite being semi-retired from modeling, according to Forbes. Her net worth is estimated at at $400 million. Brady, meanwhile, has earned over $212 million over 19 years in the NFL and is on the books for up to $15 million (per Spotrac). That $15 million ranks him 18th in the NFL in AAV among quarterbacks.
Kimmel also asked Brady about his recent workouts, including

Brady isn’t expected to attend the Patriots’ own voluntary workouts, but he tells Kimmel he still wants to find ways to work out so he can stay sharp for when he does finally hit the practice fields in Foxborough.“I feel like I always want to be ready to go,” Brady said. “I feel like I can actually go enjoy myself if I’m in game shape and ready to go. It wouldn’t take me too long to get ready, but to have the ability to do that in the offseason and keep things sharp is so important to me.”
