Carolina Hurricanes will wear Hartford Whalers jerseys vs. Boston Bruins in 2018-19
Tune up Brass Bonanza: the Hartford Whalers are back.
(Well, for two games against the Boston Bruins, anyway.)
Without a set third jersey for the 2018-19 season any jersey that touches on their origins, the Hurricanes have confirmed that they will don the green, Hartford ‘throwbacks’ at home against the Bruins on Dec. 23 and on the road at TD Garden on Mar. 5. To make that work, the Bruins agreed to wear their white road jerseys for that Mar. 5 home game.

A New England staple from 1972 to 1997, the Bruins and Whalers had 124 head-to-head meetings during their 17-year run in the NHL (the B’s won 70 of those 124 games), and met twice in the postseason (both of which were won by the Bruins).
While the throwback look will be nice, this is surely going to upset those in Hartford, as the Hurricanes have shown zero remorse when it comes to dancing on Hartford’s grave since running to North Carolina over 20 years ago.
