UMass unveils new basketball court with state map design

The University of Massachusetts has unveiled a new basketball court at the Mullins Center in Amherst for this season.
And if maps or geography interest you, you’ll probably find it pretty sharp.
The design features a full outline of the Massachusetts map, with a UMass logo in the center of the state (or, as those from Worcester would say, the “heart” of the Commonwealth).

It’s clear that there was major attention to detail with the Massachusetts print. The Southwick Jog (the Western Mass-Connecticut border irregularity), the Elizabeth Islands chain off of Falmouth, and Monomoy (off of Chatham) are all included.
And they didn’t forget Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket, either.
Much of the reaction on Twitter centered around the state map, with many suggesting the outline will give fans a new way to identify places on the court.

Anybody who hits a jumper from Boston will have gone full-Steph Curry.
