Bedard: 10 questions from Around the NFL following week 14
Greg Bedard of BostonSportsJournal.com joined Felger and Mazz and answered 10 Questions from Around the NFL following week 14 of the 2024 NFL season.
Is the Chiefs’ run of one-possession, last-minute wins a sustainable model to win a title?
Greg Bedard: I think it’s sustainable because this is what playoff games are, one possession games. They know how to win probably better than anyone in the league. But I think in the end their defense is going to let them down. I think they really miss L’Jarius Sneed as sort of the second cornerback on that team. And they’re just too light in the secondary to make a really deep run again.
Are the Bills not to be taken seriously after their loss in Los Angeles?
Greg Bedard: I’m taking them seriously just because of Josh Allen and what he can do and because he’s a freak of nature. But my money is on them choking again because this is what they do, including the head coach.
Where does Kyler Murray rank on your NFL QB power rankings? For context, give me some guys you ranked ahead of him, some guys you have ranked behind him.
Greg Bedard: I would say he’s somewhere around like 12-15 for me. I would have Tua Tagovailoa and Geno Smith just above him and then like Trevor Lawrence and Derek Carr behind him.
Does Bill Belichick deserve another crack at the NFL?
Greg Bedard: I would say yes. I would like to see him back, we need the fodder. And I would like to talk about it and would love to compare what the Patriots are doing to what Bill’s doing and see what kind of band he gets back together. And I still think he’s a really good coach. Obviously he should still be coaching in the NFL.
Is going to UNC an embarrassment to him and his legacy?
Greg Bedard: No. I just think that 50 years from now when we talk about Bill Belichick no one is going to remember UNC. They’re going to remember the Super Bowls and his greatness with the Patriots.
