Patriots dealing with illness ahead of Chiefs game
As the New England Patriots get ready to face the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, there appears to be a bug going through the team’s locker room. That was reflected on Thursday’s injury report, with two players downgraded from Wednesday.
Offensive tackle Trent Brown (ankle/hand/illness) did not participate in Thursday’s practice, after being limited on Wednesday. Special teamer Brenden Schooler (illness) also missed practice after not being listed on Wednesday’s injury report. The Patriots were also without running back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle), who missed his second day in a row.

Brown and Schooler weren’t the only two players downgraded on Thursday. Wide receiver Tyquan Thornton (hamstring) was added to the report after not being listed on Wednesday. His addition means the Patriots now have five wide receivers on the injury report, with Thornton joining Kayshon Boutte (shoulder), Demario Douglas (concussion), DeVante Parker (knee), and JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle). All five were limited on Thursday. The other two limited Patriots were defensive lineman Christian Barmore (shoulder) and special teamer Matthew Slater (not injury related, rest).
The Chiefs had one change on their side of the injury report on Thursday. Linebacker Leo Chenal (illness) was upgraded from a non-participant to full participant.
