Patriots rule two players out for Sunday against Buffalo
The New England Patriots are ruling two players out for Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills, while also promoting a player to the active roster.
On Friday’s injury report, the New England Patriots ruled two players out for this Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills. Running back JaMycal Hasty (ankle) and cornerback Marcus Jones (hip) both won’t play after missing practice all three days this week.
Meanwhile, five players are listed as questionable for the Patriots. That includes tackle Caedan Wallace (ankle), who was designated to return from IR last week but has still not been activated. The Patriots have an open roster spot to activate Wallace, but would have to do so by 4 p.m. ET on Saturday for him to be eligible to play this week.
There were also two late additions to the Patriots’ injury report on Friday. Defensive end Keion White (groin) and safety Jabrill Peppers (hamstring) were limited on Friday and are listed as questionable after not being on the report to start the week.
The Patriots also reportedly made a move at the back end of the roster on Friday. According to Christopher Price of The Boston Globe, the team is signing running back Terrell Jennings to their active roster. Price reported that Jennings’ new contract runs through the end of next season.
The Patriots did not need to open a roster spot to sign Jennings. They had two available, with Jaquelin Roy going on IR last week and Christian Barmore going back on the NFI list earlier this week.
Jennings, 23, originally signed in New England as a UDFA out of Florida A&M back in the spring. The Patriots waived Jennings during final roster cuts then brought him back on the practice squad. He was elevated once this year, getting five carries in Week 6 against the Texans. Jennings could find himself having a role again this week, with Hasty ruled out. Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson are the only two other running backs on the active roster.
