NFL stream of consciousness
The days of games being blacked out in local markets are over. There are sellouts all across the league and that’s exactly what they are doing by going to digital streams in the 2024-25 season. We have watched international games on the NFL Network with Toy Story and Nickelodeon themes. We got playoff games in Peacock and regular season games on Amazon prime. Trying to find ESPN + hasn’t been easy and now games on Christmas Day will be on Netflix.
All of these streams have a cost on top of Red Zone and NFL Sunday ticket. People will be bouncing around to find games and spending money on monthly subscriptions.
Cutting the Chord?
Netflix $6.99-$22.99/mo
Peacock $5.99/mo
Amazon Prime $14.99/mo
ESPN+ $10.99/mo
Red Zone $15.00/mo
This doesn’t include if you already pay for a cable provider or YoutubeTV and your other monthly subscriptions. It’s all over the place and the thought of cutting the chord makes this even harder to juggle everything.
As for the gamblers, this is great! On Christmas Day you can bet on the NBA & the NFL. There will be college basketball games and in the midst of bowl season. The league is already in bed with all the sports books and will benefit the most. The NFL will add more games with more ways to watch and will add more places to play games. It’s all just a stream of consciousness at the moment and we are all paying for it.
