The Red Sox are in the playoffs and have won seven of their last nine games. Manager Alex Cora has mentioned that the team should be greedy when it comes to their playoff chances. He went on to say the window is now a door in regards to moving up in the standings. They are going to keep looking up. This are certainly looking up for the team. here are the current Red Sox odds per Fangraphs

Red Sox odds:

- Make playoffs (50.3%)

- Clinch a Wild Card (47.5%)

- Win AL East (2.8%)

- Win the World Series (1.9%)

I'm sure ownership will see that last number as no chance to win the World Series and stick with the direction of selling off pieces or doing nothing. Which will not sit well with Alex Cora, a manager who knows what it takes to win a Wold Series but is in the final year of his contract. And with the teams success, could be seeking a big pay day in 2025 with another team.

The Red Sox like Cora, they brought him back after a cheating scandal that cost him a full season in 2020. He has had multiple Chief Baseball officers and power isn't something Cora has in Boston. Could he get that with another team? One nightmare scenario could be Cora heading to the Yankees. Another team to consider would be the Philadelphia Phillies. He could reunite with Dave Dombrowski, who currently has one of the best teams in baseball. A disappointing early playoff exit could spell the end to Rob Thomson. Another team mentioned was the Texas Rangers. Who just won the World Series and manager Bruce Bochy having a year remaining could retire.

This sounds like the final season for Alex Cora in Boston. He should finish with over 500 wins that will put him in the top 4 in Red Sox history. With the trade deadline looming and the success of the team, one of the biggest stories in the second half with be the future on the manager.
