Massachusetts Home Featured On TV Show ‘The Great Christmas Light Fight’
If you are looking for a holly jolly for your holidays look no further than right here in Massachusetts. Or you could just stay on your couch and find it on ABC. The reality annual competition show is back for it’s 11th season. And this year, a Massachusetts home is featured on the TV show The Great Christmas Light Fight.
Most of us like to deck a halls with bows of holly, but these contestants partake in extreme holiday light shows on their homes. Each family competes for a cash prize of $50,000, which doesn’t seem like all that much considering their electric bills. Of course there’s also the cost of all the supplies. But for these contestants bragging rights are probably a huge motivation.
Where’s the Light Show?
This year, The Great Christmas Light Fight features a home right here in Massachusetts. Congratulations to Henry Swenson and family who’s Topsfield home is in the competition. Swenson’s holiday light show includes more than 100,000 lights, according to MassLive. Full disclosure, it’s last year’s holiday light display that will be featured on the show this year, as it’s filmed a year in advance. Last year, Henry hung about 50,000 lights. He went way bigger this year.
Oh, and it’s interesting to note that Henry is only 21 years old! His Topsfield family home is located at 18 Orchard Lane in Topsfield. So, if you are out driving around checking out holiday light displays, you are welcome to view the Swenson home Fridays and Saturdays from 4:30-10:00pm. It’s also available for viewing Sundays through Thursdays 4:30-9:00pm.
When can you see the Henry Swenson light extravaganza on TV? His display will be highlighted on The Great Christmas Light Fight on Tuesday, December 19 at 9:00 pm, as stated on MassLive.com.

Apparently, it took Henry about 4 months to put his light show together. No big deal for a dude who chases storms for social media, and grows record breaking pumpkins and squash, as reported by WCVB TV. Swenson unveiled his spectacular home display last Friday.
The hit ABC show premiered last Sunday. And according to the website, The Great Christmas Light Fight will drop the next 3 episodes on Sundays at 10:00pm on ABC, WCVB Channel 5 here in Boston. But the final 2 weeks will shift to Tuesdays at 9 p.m. Those will feature back-to-back episodes. Henry Swenson is putting his hard work to a good cause, collecting donations for Boston Children’s Hospital. You can donate here.
