Red Sox Drop Second Straight Game to A’s 5-3 at Rainy Fenway
Despite an early rain delay, the Boston Red Sox and Oakland Athletics were able to play ball at Fenway Park on Tuesday night. Unfortunately, it didn’t end well for the Red Sox, who fell 5-3 to the A’s for their second straight home loss.
Eduardo Rodriguez took his first loss of the season to drop to 3-1. After a strong outing in New York against the Yankees, Rodriguez allowed three runs in five innings on six hits, no walks, and four strikeouts.
Andrew Benintendi paced the Red Sox offense with a 3-for-5 night, including his third home run of the season and seven total bases. He’s currently riding an eight-game hitting streak.
Up Next: The Red Sox look to salvage the three-game set on Thursday night. Chris Sale (3-1, 2.17 ERA) will take on Trevor Cahill (1-1, 2.25 ERA).
