Marc Bertrand: Another sign from Jerod Mayo that he’s over his head
On Friday’s edition of Zolak & Bertrand, Marc “Beetle” Bertrand touched on the latest sign from Jerod Mayo that he’s over his head.
What is the point of this response…
Marc Bertrand:
Well, Jerod May opened his press conference this morning talking about the Jets. He spent a lot of time talking about the Jets, which again, for all the things that Jerod Mayo has done to try and not be Bill Belichick, this is ripping a page out of Bill Belichick’s book. Just opening the Friday press conference talking about the opponent and how good they are and how great they’re going to be on Sunday and how tough it’s going to be to play against them. He did that. And then when asked why he decided to go that way in the press conference, he said Coach Stacey, referring to Stacey James, told me to focus on the Jets. Things like that just signal that he is out of his element and does not know what he’s doing.
Scott Zolak:
You should not say that. It’s great advice. Stacey knows he’s been around it forever.
Marc Bertrand:
So, Stacey’s trying to help him, and he says Jerod, why won’t you open up talking about the opponent, all the things you’ve been working on with the Jets. Why don’t you focus on the game and get that focus back to the game. He does it and gets asked why are you talking so much about the Jets. Oh, because Stacey James told me. Wow. What a smooth operator he is. Way to go, slick. Unbelievable. I mean.
Scott Zolak:
See, Stacey knows and he’s trying to help him. That’s one thing you should have really learned from Bill. To direct the attention elsewhere.
