Marc Bertrand: Eliot Wolf sounds a lot like Chaim Bloom
On Monday’s Zolak & Bertrand show, Marc Bertrand explains why Eliot Wolf left a lot to be desired in his first press availability of the preseason after expressing confidence in the way his team’s offensive line is presently constituted. This was especially true for offensive lineman Vederian Lowe, who had a rough night against the Philadelphia Eagles in the second preseason game:
Beetle: This was the point of the press conference when I thought to myself, man, he’s putting on his best Chaim Bloom. It felt “Red Soxy” at times during this press conference. Like what?! What?! You’re excited about that group? No, you’re not. You’re not excited about that group. Please don’t use that adjective. Who are you fooling with that? Nobody believes you. No one’s excited about this group. Your head coach is basically putting the group on blast. Your head coach, Mr. Positivity over there is not excited about this group.
Zolak: Imagine if David Andrews didn’t come back. Imagine that for one second. Like their whole success hinges on him. And make the calls and hold the middle.
Beetle: What if Michael Onwenu took a contract elsewhere? What if he didn’t resign?
Beetle: That brings us to the Vederian Lowe answer from yesterday. How did you think he played on Thursday night? Drake Maye played six snaps and on one of those six snaps he almost got his knees taken out by a pass rusher again, third stringer that Vederian Lowe missed. Who believes what he just said? Really, who’s watched training camp and watched two preseason games and believes anything that just came out Eliot Wolf’s mouth. “We’re impressed and excited about Vederian Lowe?” Come on dude.
