Zolak & Bertrand: The Football Card – Week 14
The crew owns a record of 32-27-1 after Week 13 with Beetle and Milliken the only winners, and Zo, Hardy, and T-Bone suffering losses.
Beetle got back on the saddle by riding with the 49ers (-3) over the Eagles. T-Bone wasn’t so lucky as he bet on the Bucs (-5) to put a beatdown on the Panthers. Hardy threw his money on the Steelers (-5) to handle the Cardinals and came up short. Zo thought the Broncos (+3) were keep it close against the Texans, but that missed. Lastly, Milliken finally won again by putting his faith in the Lions (-4) against the Saints.
One of the biggest questions we get each week is what betting lines do we make our picks from. In past years, sports betting wasn’t allowed in Massachusetts, but that barrier has finally been broken down. Check out Bet MGM to see the exact same lines the guys are looking at.
Beetle (10-2): Bills @ Chiefs – Chiefs (+1.5)
After a disappointing loss against the Packers on Sunday Night Football, Beetle is betting on the Chiefs to bounce back in a big way. Chiefs have been the more consistent team all season long and it doesn’t help that Bills have a couple different distractions with their roster and coaching staff.
Zolak (6-6): Broncos @ Chargers – UNDER 44
Just a week ago, we saw Justin Herbert and the Chargers offense struggle as they only scored 6 points against the Patriots. Broncos have looked much better as of late, with their defense finally looking competent again. Zo is betting on both teams combining for well under 44 points.
T-Bone (7-5): Eagles @ Cowboys – OVER 52
Eagles are coming off an embarrassing loss against the 49ers and are looking to get their season back on track. The Cowboys have been on a roll with 4 straights wins and their last loss came against the Eagles. Both teams are top five in points per game this year. Sounds like a perfect spot to take the over.
Hardy (6-5-1): Lions @ Bears – Lions (-3.5)
Hardy is taking his Lions against the Bears this week, despite being on the road after a very close matchup a few weeks back in Detroit. Snowy conditions are going to make this an ugly game but the Lions have the backfield for it with David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. Have to ride with the better roster in this one.
Milliken (3-9): Colts @ Bengals – Bengals (-2)
Jake Browning shined for the Bengals on Monday Night Football last week, showing that there’s still some hope for the team after Joe Burrow went down. Colts have been on a role with 4 straight wins as a late. Feels like the Colts are due for a letdown game with the Bengals showing they still have life.
