Zolak & Bertrand: The Football Card – Week 13
The crew owns a record of 30-24-1 after Week 12 with Hardy and Zo on the winning side of things and Beetle- T-Bone, and Milliken all racking up losses.
Beetle finally had his 8-game winning streak snapped after taking the OVER of 39.5 in Jets @ Bills. T-Bone also lost after betting on the Steelers (+1) to keep it close against the Browns. Hardy was on the winning side of things as he expected the Raiders (+13.5) to be competitive against the Dolphins. Zo was also a winner after the Eagles (+2.5) pulled off the upset against the Chiefs. Milliken continued to be a loser after the Chargers (-3) came up short against the Packers.
One of the biggest questions we get each week is what betting lines do we make our picks from. In past years, sports betting wasn’t allowed in Massachusetts, but that barrier has finally been broken down. Check out Bet MGM to see the exact same lines the guys are looking at.
Beetle (9-2): 49ers @ Eagles – 49ers (-3)
49ers have been on a heater the last 3 weeks and Beetle believes it continues against the Eagles. Going into Philly won’t be easy, but the Eagles are coming off a shootout against the Bills. Feels like a spot for the Eagles to pick up their second loss of the season after going through a gauntlet (Chiefs, Cowboys as well) in recent weeks.
Zolak (6-5): Broncos @ Texans – Broncos (+3)
Outside of the Eagles, the Broncos have been the hottest team in the NFL with 5 straight wins. C.J. Stroud has arguably been the hottest name though, as he looks to be the franchise QB the Texans have been waiting for. Zo expects the Broncos to at least make it close, so he’s taking them +3.
T-Bone (7-4): Panthers @ Bucs – Bucs (-5.5)
While T-Bone has benefited from betting on the Raiders after they fired Josh McDaniels, he’s going in the opposite direction after the Panthers fired Frank Reich. Why? Nobody knows who Chris Tabor is. Panthers aren’t getting the same boost the Raiders did and with the Bucs being the better team, this was an easy one.
Hardy (6-4-1): Cardinals @ Steelers – Steelers (-5.5)
Steelers have been riding a high since the firing of OC Matt Canada and Hardy is betting on that continuing. Last week, Kenny Pickett looked the best he’s looked in a long time and the Cardinals defense shouldn’t be much of a challenge for him. Even with Kyler Murray being back, the pieces around him won’t be enough to keep this game close.
Milliken (2-9): Lions @ Saints – Lions (-4)
Lastly, Milliken is rolling with the Lions bouncing back in a big way after a frustrating loss on Thanksgiving. Jared Goff is bound to rebound and if he does, it’ll likely be a shootout with the Saints offense just not having the fire power to keep up. Not to mention, the Saints defense has allowed at least 125 rushing yards in the last 4 games, which is a great trend for the likes of David Montgomery.
