On Wednesday's Zolak & Bertrand program, Zo drops a piece of information hinting that Bill Belichick could return to coaching in 2025.

Belichick Returning in 2025?

Parts of conversation abbreviated for clarity.

Bertrand: Tom Pelissero said earlier this week that Bill Belichick intends to resume coaching in 2025. Why do you think it is that Tom Pelissero is out there saying this at this moment in time? Is it because Bill Belichick has added those media responsibilities that he's put on his plate?

Zolak: I don't think it's about the added media responsibility. I think Bill wants to coach.

The question is—the longer he stays out and the more of these gigs he gets—does it, sort of, push him away from the game? I mean, he’s around the game right now, talking about the game. That's what he's doing media for.

I talked to somebody close to Belichick and they said Bill wants that [Shula] record. That's important to him.

Bertrand: When did you talk to this person?

Zolak: This week. I said the same thing on the show earlier this week.

Bertrand: Yeah, I know. I'm just reiterating it.

Zolak: Yeah, it was this week. The beginning of this week.

Bertrand: Someone close to Bill told Zo earlier this week that he intends to go for that record.

Zolak: I wouldn’t say close to Bill but knows Bill very well.

Bertrand: Okay, but you wouldn't mention it if you didn't believe it was real. And coming from Bill?

Zolak: Correct.

Bertrand: That's authentic. Not just someone throwing crap against the wall.

Zolak: Not some random dude like, “Yeah, hey, man, yes, he's going to coach again.” No, it wasn't that.

Bertrand: It was someone who indicated that he is going to get that record. Bill wants that record.

Zolak: Yeah and he's not a mid-year pickup guy from some NFL team.

Bertrand: That’s oddly specific but good to know he's not a mid-year pickup guy. But he wants the record.

And, wait a minute, It sounds like you're saying the same things that we just heard from Tom Pelissero. Bill wants to go to a good program where he can set up his system.

It's almost like Bill is letting everybody know that he intends to coach in 2025.

Zolak: “Don't forget about me.”

Bertrand: He’s heard what people have said in the last couple of weeks as he has continued to add media jobs to his schedule. Critics say “This guy is going to get cushy and be done.”

Teams that have won consecutive championships since 2000

When each team starts a new season they all have the same goal in common....to win a championship. For most that goal doesn't get achieved but for one team the goal does get achieved. Some teams have been built so well that they win championships in consecutive seasons. Below is a list of teams in the National Football League (NFL), National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Baseball (MLB), and National Hockey League (NHL), the four major sports in America, that have won championships in consecutive seasons since 2000.

But before the consecutive champs, here’s some info on the current champions in these sports....

The Kansas City Chiefs won their fourth Super Bowl in franchise history during the 2023 season with an overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. The Chiefs will appear on this list as they followed up their Super Bowl win in Super Bowl 57 with a successful title defense.

The Boston Celtics won their 18th NBA Championship in 2024. The Celtics won the NBA Finals in five games over the Dallas Mavericks to win their 18th title and break a tie with the Minneapolis/Los Angeles Lakers for most NBA titles.

The Texas Rangers won their first World Series title in 2023. The Rangers took down the Arizona Diamondbacks in five games to claim their first fall classic victory.

The Florida Panthers won their first Stanley Cup in 2024. The Panthers rebounded from a Cup Final loss in 2023 to the Vegas Golden Knights and took down the Edmonton Oilers in seven games to win the Cup for the first time ever.
