Zolak & Bertrand – The Football Card – Week 2
We’re onto the second Sunday of the NFL season, which means it’s time for Week 2 of The Football Card from Zolak & Bertrand.
It was a 3-2 record from the crew after Week 1, with Beetle, Zo, and T-Bone all coming away with wins. Hardy and Milliken weren’t so fortunate. Just a quick refresher on last week’s picks:
Zo had taken the Packers moneyline over the Bears. Beetle picked the Cowboys -3.5 over the Giants. Hardy put his money on the Seahawks -4.5 over the Rams. T-Bone put his hopes in the Jaguars -4.5 against the Colts and finally Milliken had the Broncos -3 over the Raiders, which R.J. Bell called his pick of the week, but it didn’t pay off.
One of the biggest questions we get each week is what betting lines do we make our picks from. In past years, sports betting wasn’t allowed in Massachusetts, but that barrier has finally been broken down. Check out Bet MGM to see the exact same lines the guys are looking at.
Scott Zolak (1-0): Packers @ Falcons – Packers (+1.5)
Zo was all over the Packers in Week 1 upsetting the Bears and it worked out perfectly. He’s taking them as the underdog this time around because he thinks the Falcons are a fraud team. Green Bay shows up and makes a statement in Atlanta.
Marc Bertrand (1-0): Browns @ Steelers – Browns (-2.5)
Beetle is all in on the Browns defense and if they’re going to be a playoff team, it starts with showing up on the road against the Browns. After an ugly Week 1 for the Steelers against the 49ers, it feels like an 0-2 start is destined for Mike Tomlin and his crew.
Hardy (0-1): Chiefs @ Jaguars – Chiefs (-3.5)
After Hardy was talked out of his pick last week, he wasn’t going to let it happen again. He’s all in on the Chiefs bouncing back after a disappointing Week 1, even against Trevor Lawrence and a surging Jaguars team. If Travis Kelce ends up being healthy for Sunday, it’ll go a long way.
T-Bone (1-0): Raiders @ Bills – Raiders (+8.5)
While the Bills are looking to bounce back in a major way, T-Bone thinks that the Raiders will hang around enough to cover. Especially with the Bills traveling from the east coast for this matchup.
Milliken (0-1): Chargers @ Titans – Chargers (-2.5)
Last week, the Chargers hung 34 points in a loss to the Dolphins, while the Titans and Ryan Tannehill struggled to do much of anything on offense as he threw 3 interceptions against the Saints. I have a hard time picturing Tennessee’s offense keeping pace with the Chargers, even with Austin Ekeler potentially being out. Give me Justin Herbert against a Titans’ defense that had trouble containing Derek Carr in the passing game last week.
