Former Red Sox pitching coach Dana LeVangie, who was reassigned to the team’s pro scouting department last month after a disappointing 2019 season, is set to interview for a coaching position with the Chicago Cubs.
Jon Heyman reported Wednesday that LeVangie is one of the candidates to join David Ross’ staff in Chicago. Ross, who was a key leader for the Red Sox when they won the World Series in 2013 and for the Cubs when they won the title in 2016, was hired as the new Cubs manager last week.
Cubs have interviewed ex Padres manager Andy Green and ex Red Sox pitching coach Dana Levangie for coaching positions, Green, 1st reported by @PJ_Mooney, would be for bench coach. Mark Loretta also could still return in that role.

It’s not clear what role LeVangie would be interviewing for. He was the Red Sox pitching coach for two seasons and also spent time as the team’s bullpen coach.
LeVangie has been in Red Sox organization for the last three decades and has held a variety of roles during his tenure.
