Danny Ainge gives update on Jaylen Brown’s shoulder injury with Toucher and Rich
Celtics president of basketball ops Danny Ainge joined Toucher and Rich for his weekly interview on Thursday morning. He was asked during the call about Jaylen Brown’s recent shoulder injury, and offered an optimistic but uncertain update on the starting guard’s status.
“Yeah, I don’t know for sure,” Ainge said. “It looked like it was better yesterday, but it was just sore. I could see during the broadcast the other night that his shoulder was bothering him, and he made a move and he’s not sure if it’s just if he got hit or just stretched it out. But he’ll be alright in the next few days in my opinion.
“I’m not sure when exactly, but it was still sore yesterday. Hopefully he’s feeling better today.”
Brown injured his shoulder during the Celtics’ loss to the Chicago Bulls on Monday. He was most recently listed as doubtful for Thursday’s game against the Phoenix Suns.
Ainge also talked about his recent experience jumping on the NBC Sports Boston broadcast to analyze his own team, the Celtics’ other injuries to Robert Williams and Marcus Smart, and that whole claim about how he played during a round of golf at Pebble Beach. Listen below for the full interview.
