Kyle Dugger on Z&B: Joe Burrow ‘for sure’ looked uneasy in Week 1
The Patriots upset the Bengals in Week 1 on the strength of their defense, that frustrated Joe Burrow and the high-octane Cincinnati offense. Kyle Dugger, who finished the game with six combined tackles and one huge forced fumble near the goal line, joined Zolak and Bertrand to discuss his team’s win.
Patriots defense made Joe Burrow feel ‘uneasy’
Zolak: Another great defensive effort by you guys. Carrying over from last year, you guys were so multiple on multiple fronts, multiple coverages, three safeties in the game at once, six DB’s in the game at once. How much did you feel like when you watch Burrow and you see his eyes, did he feel uneasy at times, especially in the first three quarters?
Kyle Dugger: Oh, for sure. And that was the whole defense behind all that, you know, making it hard for him. Make it difficult for him to read and make him take as much time back there to process as possible.
Zolak: And I noticed that in the broadcast, I even brought up the Bob Socci. I said the feet don’t look right and his head kept going back and forth, left and right. And it was it because you guys were covering the the first and secnd reads and he really wanted to kind of hang on those.
Kyle Dugger: I think, yeah, initially. Maybe just the disguise as well and just kind of a combination of. Those things showing pressure and disguising, you know, it makes them think it’s a completely different thought process when he sees those things so.
