On Friday morning, this year’s quarterback class spoke to reporters at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. For the top quarterbacks who didn’t take part in the Senior Bowl or Shrine Bowl, this was their first introduction to NFL media.
The first quarterback to speak was LSU’s Jayden Daniels, who has been one of the most common projections for the New England Patriots with the third overall pick. During his availability, he was asked about potentially playing in New England.

“It would be dope,” Daniels said of playing for the Patriots. “Obviously growing up and seeing what Tom Brady did, six Super Bowls, that’s tough to live up to. But that’d be dope to come in there, see the success that they had, and help them get back on that track.”
Daniels reportedly had his pre-draft meeting with the Patriots earlier this week. Daniels isn’t take in part in on-field work in Indy, just team meetings and medical testing.
The Patriots aren’t the only team Daniels has met with. He also spoke with the Commanders, and was very complimentary of their coaching staff when asked by reporters.
With both the Patriots and Commanders needing a quarterback, Daniels isn’t expected to get past the third pick in the draft. The question is, will the Patriots have a chance at him, or will Washington take him first?
