Beetle: Mac Jones is more fun to watch than Bailey Zappe
On Monday’s edition of Zolak and Bertrand, Marc Bertrand explains that Mac Jones is a more fun quarterback to watch then Bailey Zappe
So if Mac was in there, is there no hope of it being any better?
Beetle: So if Mac was in there yesterday, no hope of being any better?
Zolak: No. Because maybe he get a panic throw and gets picked. Make it worse.
Beetle: Which means what? Like they lose 13-0?
Zolak: Maybe.
Beetle: I mean, Mac has driven the team.
Zolak: We already know. We’ve already know, Mac’s done here.
Beetle: But Mac has led drives this year.
Zolak: Right. Many years ago.
Beetle: No Mac has led drives and then done things like, you know, like in the Dallas game. Lead you down the field and then throws a horrific pick.
Zolak: Yeah that’s the roller coaster, like here we go going up the hill, then down, then we go up and then we go across.
Beetle: What’s more entertaining, watching Mac lead you down the field and throw the pick or just watching the offense yesterday not move.
Zolak: Yesterday because you’re not angry. The anger is less.
Beetle: Right.
Zolak: I’m just saying from my emotional standpoint calling the game cause I know the team pretty well and I react to what I’m watching. Those pics make you effing angry. Like, get him out. Get him out.
Beetle: Right. The result is no different.
Zolak: Go sit over there. You know, and I didn’t feel that yesterday..
Beetle: This is what I’m not convinced of, that watching Zappe over the next five weeks- is going to be any more interesting than watching Mac. I think it might be less interesting. That was so boring yesterday.
Zolak: Well, this is what you want. Lose out. You can get your pick big guy.
Beetle: Yeah, but at least with Mac, it’s somewhat entertaining.

Quarterback change fails to provide a spark: 9 takeaways from the Patriots' loss to the Chargers
For a 2-9 team, there was a lot of anticipation for the New England Patriots’ Week 13 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers at Gillette Stadium on Sunday. The team made a long-awaited quarterback switch, with Bailey Zappe making his first start of the year in place of Mac Jones.
Despite the change, the results looked similar. While the Patriots had just one turnover – a Rhamondre Stevenson fumble on a play during which he got hurt – for the first time in four weeks, the offense failed to capitalize. They ended up with 257 total yards, which was down from last week and 40 yards below their season average for yards in a game, and were shut out for the second time in 2023.
