Dominant stretch earns Jayson Tatum Eastern Conference Player of the Week
Jayson Tatum certainly found some kind of rhythm this past week, taking over on offense and making clutch shots in big moments for the Celtics. His performances paid off as Tatum was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week. The award marks Tatum’s second of this season and his sixth conference player of the week award of his career.
The Boston forward averaged 41.3 points per game across three contests in which he shot over 50 percent from the field. After victories over Atlanta and Memphis, Tatum capped his week with a masterpiece by dropping 54 points in a major 126-120 win at home on Sunday over the Brooklyn Nets.
The Boston scorer is red hot to begin the month of March, shooting over 40 percent from three-point range in addition to scoring over 40 points per game. He continues to pace the Celtics offense that rides the momentum of 14 wins in their last 16 games.
Tatum will look to stay consistent when the Celtics return to the court in Charlotte on Tuesday night to battle the Hornets. Coverage of the game begins with pregame at 6:30 p.m. on 98.5 The Sports Hub.
