Report: Patriots host two players for free agent workouts
The Patriots were busy on Thursday ahead of their preseason opener against the Washington Football Team. Before the game, New England hosted a pair of players for free agent workouts.
As first reported by ESPN’s Mike Reiss, the team hosted linebackers Nick Dzubnar and Willie Harvey. This continues what has been a string of visits throughout training camp.
Dzunbar is a six-year NFL veteran, who entered the league as a UDFA out of Cal Poly with the Chargers in 2015 and spent five years with the team, before joining the Titans in 2020. He played in all 16 games for Tennessee last year, and was on the field for 82 percent of their special teams snaps.
Harvey is another special teams focused linebacker, who was signed by the Browns in 2019 out of Iowa State. He played in two games that season and recorded 17 special teams snaps. Since being released by the Browns during 2020 roster cuts, he hasn’t been on an NFL roster.
