Jakobi Meyers gives an early OTAs scouting report on Patriots offseason additions
The Patriots held their first OTA practice of the year on Monday. However, media access doesn’t begin until Thursday, so aside from a few pictures released by the team it’s hard to to know how the session went.
So when Jakobi Meyers spoke with reporters on Tuesday, it was a chance to get a first-hand account of how things are going – especially for the Patriots’ top draft pick, quarterback Mac Jones.
“I mean, we haven’t been in the game yet, but from the couple of days that we’ve had together he’s been definitely easy to work with,” Meyers replied when asked what his experience with Jones has been like so far. “He’s blessed to have the arm talent he has. It’s definitely nice working with him. He does throw a catchable ball and – all the guys I feel like, they’re here for a reason, and I feel like that’s definitely one of the reasons he’s here.”
Meyers was also asked about the two big additions to his positional room – wide receivers Nelson Agholor and Kendrick Bourne.
“They’re family already. I love having them around, just the energy they bring and how hard they work,” Meyers noted. “They’re definitely two guys who you can tell they want to be the best at what they do. And every day we come in here, they push each other and they push us. This just definitely brought some new life to the room.”
Patriots OTAs continue throughout the week. Here’s some things to keep an eye on as more information becomes available from the sessions.
