Athletics’ Sean Manaea No-Hits Red Sox To End Boston’s Win Streak
The Boston Red Sox’ eight-game win streak came to a screeching halt on Saturday. Oakland Athletics starter Sean Manaea struck out 10 in a no-hitter, out-dueling Chris Sale and throwing 108 pitches in the historic effort.
The Red Sox fell to 17-3 on the season and still possess the best record in the major leagues. Sale (1-1) scattered three runs and also struck out 10 in seven innings in the tough-luck losing effort.

The A’s got their three runs from their top-3 hitters in the lineup. Marcus Semien went 2-for-3 with a home run off Sale in the fifth inning, while Stephen Piscotty and former Red Sox infielder Jed Lowrie each went 1-for-4 with an RBI.
Up Next: The Red Sox and A’s get back at it on Sunday, with David Price (2-1, 2.25 ERA) taking on Daniel Mengden (2-2, 4.50 ERA).
