Red Sox complete trade with Mets
Saturday has come with a move beyond the MLB roster for the Red Sox, with infielder Pablo Reyes traded to the New York Mets in exchange for cash considerations.
Reyes, who made 21 appearances for the Red Sox this season, was designated for assignment by the Sox back on Apr. 29, and had been playing for Triple-A Worcester since May.
The 30-year-old Reyes, originally acquired by the Sox from Oakland in exchange for cash considerations back in May 2023, made 85 total appearances for Boston over his two-season run in town.
Over that time, Reyes posted a .260 average with 11 doubles, two home runs, and 25 RBIs.
