The Boston Red Sox announced before Sunday's game that two more players were headed to the injured list.

As the team announced on X, infielder Vaughn Grissom was one of two players headed to the IL. Grissom is being placed on the 10-day IL with a strained right hamstring.

Grissom, whom the Red Sox originally acquired in an offseason trade for pitcher Chris Sale, batted just .148 with a .367 OPS in 23 games before his injury. He had mainly played second base.

The other player headed to the IL is utility man Romy Gonzalez, who batted .257 in 39 plate appearances over 17 games prior to getting injured. Primarily utilized for his late-game defense, Gonzalez has mainly played shortstop, but has also played first base, third base, and outfield. He's headed to the IL with a left hamstring strain.

Boston also announced that pitcher Garrett Whitlock is moving to the 60-day injured list, as he figures out how to address his injured UCL in his throwing arm. No matter what Whitlock chooses to do, his 2024 season is likely over.

Outfielder Tyler O'Neill and DH Masataka Yoshida are both still on the IL, but are each expected to return sometime in June.

As for call-ups, the Red Sox activated infielders Bobby Dalbec and Jamie Westbrook from Triple-A Worcester. Dalbec checked in to the Red Sox' extra-inning loss to the Detroit Tigers on Sunday, replacing Connor Wong in the lineup and playing the 10th inning at first base.
