Drake Maye’s first start is followed by his first injury report appearance
Quarterback Drake Maye is one of 16 players to appear on the New England Patriots’ first injury report of Week 7.
It’s been a week of firsts for rookie New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye. Three days after making his first NFL start and throwing his first NFL touchdown, Maye makes his first appearance on the injury report.
Maye (knee) is one of 16 players listed on Wednesday’s injury report – the first of Week 7 for the Patriots. Maye was sacked four times and hit eight times in the loss.
While Maye got up slowly a few times on Sunday, he did finish the game seemingly without incident. However his condition and mobility will be something to monitor heading into this week’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, with the Patriots’ offensive line potentially having more moving pieces.
The biggest question relates to the left tackle position. Vederian Lowe (ankle) didn’t practice on Wednesday after getting rolled up on during Sunday’s game and leaving early. Lowe’s status is reportedly ‘day-to-day.’ Guard Michael Jordan (ankle) also left Sunday’s game early, and was limited on Wednesday.
In addition to Lowe, running back Rhamondre Stevenson (foot) and cornerback Marcus Jones (groin/illness) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice. Stevenson missed all of last week, while Jones played in Sunday’s game from start to finish.
Eight Patriots were limited on Wednesday. Jordan was one, with the other seven all being defensive players – lineman Davon Godchaux (elbow), linebacker Sione Takitaki (knee), cornerbacks Jonathan Jones (shoulder), Isaiah Bolden (hamstring), and Marco Wilson (groin), and safeties Kyle Dugger (ankle) and Marte Mapu (neck).

Meanwhile, four Patriots were listed as full participants along with Maye. That group includes wide receivers Kendrick Bourne (knee) and K.J. Osborn (shoulder), linebacker Anfernee Jennings (shoulder) and long snapper Joe Cardona (calf).
On the other side of the report the Jaguars listed six total players, with five limited. That includes running back Travis Etienne (hamstring), wide receiver Gabe Davis (knee), tight end Evan Engram (hamstring), and defensive end Arik Armstead (shoulder).
